I’ve been very blessed to be work with the staff of Awakening Church and handle their web development. This new church in Easley, South Carolina, will be launching in September of 2012. Awakening Church is led by Terry Carlton.

A progressive and dynamic design was chosen for the site, with a color scheme of black and white, accented by red. The front page is dominated by a large image slider. Underneath the slider and the church slogan, there are three static images that when clicked, pop up to play video content. We are integrating the site with an online Christian organization called The City, who will handle the online giving and newsletter aspects of the site. The blog function of the site serves as an update of what is happening at the church.

Its been a joy to work with Awakening, and we look forward to a long and successful web future together.

So if you’ve seen my advertising lately, you may be wondering why the last name change. The last six months have been a hectic whirlwind, to say the least. I’ve gotten married and taken my husbands last name. I am now Emily Trimnal – whee! So if you are searching for me online, Emily Trimnal and Emily Gough are the one and the same.

I’ve also moved recently, and purchased a house in Candler, on the outskirts of Asheville, NC. Finally being able to settle down and stay in a place permanently is allowing me to grow my business and focus on web development. I’m very excited what the future holds for Amazon Art & Design.

I didn’t realize they even did this, but apparently on the Jimmy Fallon show, they read out funny tweets that have the hash tag associated with it for that night. For example, Jimmy Fallon will tweet from his twitter, and give the #hashtag to add. Last week it was #momquotes. A friend of mine submitted her mom quote, and was shocked when she (belatedly) found out that her quote had made it onto the show! I love how Twitter is completely revolutionizing the way we interact with people and media.

This is a site I built for a friend of mine in Australia. He has recently launched a new business called Cockatoo Chaos, and requested help in building out the site. This site was built in WordPress, and focused on easy navigation, simple and striking colors, with a clean format to present information to customers.

Plans to build out the site to include an online store using WordPress Shopping Cart are scheduled for a later date. This site was based on the Satoshi theme, an open source theme available to WordPress users.

Recently a new website for a local Asheville business was redone and released! Med Express Gloves is a medical supply store that supplies premium latex, vinyl, and nitrile gloves.

Bland colors, overlapping and confusing navigation, misspelled words and outdated links were some of the sites hurdles to overcome. Customers that had been with the company for years were used to the site and had no complaints, but our focus was to rebrand and rebuild, gain new customers and keep loyal customers satisfied.

I was fortunate to work with a great team that helped bring this new website to life. Angela of Anotions did the new logo, Audrey Goforth did a product photo shoot, and breathed a whole new life into the site with the fantastic front page photos. Now instead of confusing navigation, the path to purchase is crystal clear. Information is available at the click of the mouse, and inquiries can easily be sent through the companies contact page. Gary of G Social Media brought Med Express into the social media realm by hooking them up with a QR Code, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. Old and new customers can also now navigate to the company’s blog, or view the short ‘behind the scenes’ video clip to see what life is really like in the warehouse.

Working on makeover projects such as this are my absolute favorite, and working with a talented team makes it even better. I love comparing the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos, and hearing input from the company and customers.
